SITES OF REFUSAL – Opening Reception
SITES OF REFUSAL
Opening Reception:
Saturday, August 2, 2025 | 7PM – 9PM
📍 MPACC BoxPark Gallery,
925 Mt. Vernon Ave,
Columbus OH
This August, we invite you into a space where protest meets presence, and resistance takes shape in everyday life.
Sites of Refusal is a month-long photographic exhibition featuring the work of Sydney Summey (A Day in the Periphery) and Christopher Summey (Portraits in Protest). Together, their images document and uplift the quiet and collective acts of refusal, joy, and defiance that define Black life.
Black life does not simply resist systems that weren’t made for us—Black life creates, remembers, and lives visions of freedom rooted in our everyday.
Come witness, reflect, and join us as we hold space for our stories.
🎟️ Free and open to the public.
